“Roller Jam” Brings Roller Skating Back in a New Competition Series
Get ready to lace up your skates—roller skating is making a comeback in a big way! A brand-new reality competition series called Roller Jam is set to premiere on Max this October 10th, and it’s bringing serious nostalgia along for the ride. Hosted by American Idol alum Jordin Sparks, Roller Jam is a six-episode roller-skating competition series that brings together teams of skaters battling it out for the top prize. The competition offers a modern twist on a retro sport, with sleek moves, flashy outfits, and a whole lot of attitude. Think of it as the Dancing with the Stars of roller rinks. The winning team will walk away with a $150,000 grand prize, along with a $10,000 donation to their local roller rink.
The judging panel is a mix of expertise and star power. Leading the way is figure skating champion Johnny Weir, known for his flair both on and off the ice. Joining him is roller-skating legend Terrell Ferguson, a pioneer in the roller community. Every week, a rotating celebrity guest judge will step in to offer their take on the contestants’ moves, including:
Michelle Williams from Destiny’s Child
Maureen McCormick, best known as Marcia from The Brady Bunch
Pepa from Salt-N-Pepa
80s pop sensation Debbie Gibson
Actress and singer Marissa Jaret Winokur
And finally, producer Joanna Gaines, who is also behind the scenes of the show.
