Mariah Carey is defrosting early! The Queen of Christmas revealed this week that she is re-releasing her massive hit, “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
Originally released in October 1994 as the first single from her holiday album Merry Christmas, Carey is celebrating the song’s 30th birthday by re-releasing it, along with a new version of the Merry Christmas LP.
Carey shared the news on Instagram writing, “While it is definitely not time to listen to Christmas music yet, I wanted to share a glimpse of #MerryChristmas30 with you! An homage to the original album cover, here is the cover art for two of the four new ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ physical singles… available for pre-order now!”
The singer revealed two new cover photos for the single, including a recreation of the original, where she’s wearing a skin-tight Santa suit.
Carey will also embark on her highly anticipated annual Christmas extravaganza tour, Mariah Carey’s Christmas Time, visiting 20 cities across the country. The tour kicks off on November 6, stopping in Los Angeles, Houston, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and more, before wrapping up on December 17 in her hometown of NYC.
