This Shelter Pet Saturday, we’re featuring two pint-sized best friends — Nibbles and Wibbles, a pair of adorable guinea pigs who were found together on Joslin Street and are now waiting for a cozy forever home at Virginia Beach Animal Services.

These two are more than just cute faces; they’re part of a group of nine guinea pigs currently available for adoption at the shelter. Whether you’re a first-time pet owner or a seasoned small animal fan, guinea pigs make wonderful companions. They’re gentle, social, and full of personality — often “popcorning” (little happy jumps!) when they’re excited or content.

Best of all? Adoptions at Virginia Beach Animal Services are just $1 all year round for every animal in the shelter. And if you adopt a bonded pair of guinea pigs like Nibbles and Wibbles, you get both for $1 total!

Lizzo and Megan were surrendered when their family was moving and chose not to take them along.

Oreo and Gerald were surrendered by their previous family, who described them as kind and gentle. They have been around dogs and young children. Hand-tamed.

Foggy and Diego were surrendered when their owner could no longer care for them. They are a cute pig pair ready for their new home!
