This week’s Shelter Pet Saturday spotlight is Orbit, a 5-month-old male puppy at Suffolk Humane Society. His mom, Crystal, has already found her forever home, and now it’s Orbit’s turn to shine!
Like many young dogs, Orbit is still a little shy — he’s only known life with his foster so far — but with time, consistency, and lots of love, he’s sure to grow into a confident and happy companion.
He’s expected to be a large dog when fully grown (his mom weighed 60 pounds) and would thrive in a patient home that understands the needs of a young pup. Because he’s still learning the ropes, he shouldn’t be left alone for long stretches, and a fenced yard is required for all puppies.
If you’re ready to open your heart and home to a loyal new friend, Orbit might be the perfect fit for your family.
Help pups like Orbit at the Suffolk Humane Society’s Mutt Strutt at Bennett’s Creek Park on Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 12–4 p.m. Bring your whole family (furry friends included!) for an afternoon full of fun, pet-related activities including the Salty Dog Ice Cream Eating Contest, a Lure Course, Adoptable Pets and more!
