This week’s featured pet at Norfolk Animal Care Center is Trucker.
Trucker arrived at NACC in August after his owner sadly passed away. At 12 years old, losing the person he loved and the home he knew has been incredibly hard on him, and despite his sweet personality, Trucker has watched other cats come and go for months. Today, he holds the title of NACC’s longest cat resident, and he’s more than ready for someone to choose him.
But here’s the good news:
✨ Trucker has just been named this month’s Shelter Star!
That means his adoption fee is fully sponsored by Friends of Norfolk Animal Care Center, giving him the best chance possible to find the loving home he deserves.
At 12 years old, Trucker is the perfect mellow companion — content to spend time near his humans, enjoy a cozy spot to nap, and offer quiet, steady companionship. Senior cats often get overlooked, but they are some of the most rewarding pets to welcome into your home. They come with established personalities, calm energy, and so much love to give.
If you’ve been thinking about adopting, please consider opening your heart to Trucker. After losing everything familiar, what he needs most is a safe home, a soft bed, and someone who will love him through this next chapter.
Visit Norfolk Animal Care Center to meet this special guy — your new best friend may be waiting.

NACC Urgently Needs Holiday Fosters
As Norfolk Animal Care Center undergoes construction, space is extremely limited. Fosters are needed now more than ever—especially through the holiday season.
Fostering is completely free, and NACC provides all necessary supplies. You provide the couch, the cuddles, and the safe place for a pet like Tonk to decompress.
