This week’s Shelter Pet Saturday spotlight goes to Granola, a 9-year-old cuddle bug currently in foster care through Norfolk Animal Care Center—and trust us, she’s as warm and comforting as her name suggests.

Granola has never met a stranger. The moment you walk into the room, she lights up like you’re already her best friend.

This holiday season, Granola got to live out a little Christmas magic. She visited Norfolk Botanical Garden, where she explored the trails and charmed everyone she met with her gentle spirit and signature smile. She even came to my house for a holiday photo shoot, hoping that maybe—just maybe—someone would spot her and give her the gift she wants most: a family of her own.

Christmas has come and gone, but Granola still believes 2026 could be her year. A soft bed, a hand to hold, and a home to call hers—that’s all she’s wishing for.

Adoption Fee Reduced
