During the final night of the band’s Black Parade tour in San Antonio on September 12, frontman Gerard Way told the crowd that the group has wanted to make another album and hopes the opportunity will come together.
The comment came as the band wrapped a major run of shows centered on The Black Parade era. No album title, recording timeline, or release date was announced, so a new studio project has not been officially confirmed.
My Chemical Romance has not released a full-length album since Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys arrived in 2010. The band later broke up in 2013 before reuniting in 2019.
Since returning, the group has focused heavily on live performances while also releasing The Foundations of Decay in 2022. Way’s latest remarks suggest the idea of another album remains part of the band’s plans, even though no formal details have been shared.
