Fall fun for Fido and families is returning to Downtown Hampton’s beautiful waterfront for the Peninsula SPCA’s 17th annual Barktoberfest festival on October 7, 2023, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The shelter’s annual fall fundraiser will feature live music, local craft beer, food trucks, over 50 vendors, costume contests for pets and people with cash prizes, and more dog-friendly contests and activities for everyone to enjoy!

This year’s Barktoberfest will also be celebrating Peninsula SPCA’s 85th anniversary of helping pets and people in the community! Amazing live music will be featured on the Woofstock Stage by the Dog Street Boys, with special guests Lost Soul Society and more, made possible by VCA Animal Hospitals, Carol & Frank, and Waste Management. The Bow Wow Beer Garden, presented by Colonial Webb, will offer a variety of craft brews from St. George Brewing Company, Alewerks Brewing Company, Sweetwater, Caiseal, Sly Clyde Ciderworks, and That Damn Mary Brewing. Delicious food and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available for purchase from local food trucks Southern Hospitality and DD214 Smokehouse. Plus, there will be pet-friendly vendors and local rescues with adoptable animals and more!

This Fido-friendly festival will offer lots of fall activities for guests AND their pups, including a talent contest, bobbing for tennis balls, and a dog cake walk! The popular and pup-tacular costume contest for pets and people will begin at 2:30 p.m. featuring two categories, Pets Only and Pets & People, and cash prizes will be awarded for 1st through 3rd place in each category. Participants are encouraged to get creative with their costumes and dress to impress, as competition can be fierce!

Advance Tickets:

Advance ticket holders can pick up their event T-shirt, goodie bag, and souvenir glass prior to the festival. Tickets may be purchased in advance online (www.peninsulaspca.org) only until September 30th.

Adult: $15. Includes exclusive Barktoberfest T-shirt, a goodie bag with cool stuff, two raffle tickets, and event admission.

Children (ages 5 to 12): $10. Includes exclusive Barktoberfest T-shirt, a goodie bag with cool stuff, and event admission.
