Angela Baker – Albert W. Patrick Elementary
Hello, my name is Angela Baker and I am a special education teacher in Hampton, Virginia. I teach a self-contained class for grades kindergarten through second. This is my second year teaching, and there is still a lot of things that I need for my kids. While we are doing academics, my kids learn more with visual and hands-on activities — so I try to incorporate that into the daily curriculum as much as possible so that they are enjoying themselves.
Alexis Singletary – Ella Fitzgerald Middle School
This will be my first full year teaching and I am very excited! I started as a long-term substitute teaching Business for 6–8th graders, and now I’m returning as the new Business teacher. I look forward to all that this year will bring as I help my students prepare for their next chapter.
Emily Sims – Burbank Elementary School
This is my 10th year as a School Counselor, 9th in Hampton City Schools. I’m the only School Counselor at a Title 1 school with a student population of approximately 400. I love finding good stories for students to learn from and reading them aloud, as well as finding hands-on items for deeper discovery. Between classroom lessons, small groups, individual sessions, and parent meetings — I stay busy!
Jillian Batchelor – Hickory High School
This is my “Sweet 16” of teaching! After 15 years in special education, I switched to Algebra I and Theatre Arts. I’ll be teaching freshmen in Algebra I, Drama I, and Adaptive Drama for students with special needs — focusing on academics and life skills. I hope these items help me create a warm, welcoming (and slightly humorous) classroom environment.
Kimberly Renner – Yorktown Middle School
This year, I’m returning to teaching after time away as a program manager. I’ll be teaching 6th and 7th grade English Language Arts, and I’m grateful for any contributions to help make our classroom a great space for learning.
Kristina Kearney – Samuel P. Langley Elementary
I will be entering my 8th year as a Kindergarten teacher and 12th year at this school. I’m always looking for new ways to keep my students engaged and excited about learning.
Michelle Bird – Hillpoint Elementary
This is my 14th year teaching in Suffolk, and I am so excited to start the new school year! I want to make this year the best for my 3rd graders, and your support is appreciated!
Tabitha Brady – Mack Benn Junior Elementary
I am in my 8th year teaching in a Special Education Self-contained class at a Title 1 Elementary School. I love my classroom babies and want them to thrive — the items on this list will help, including snacks since they stay with me until nearly 4pm each day.
