Shelter Pet Saturday is brought to you by Lucky One Lemonade
Sometimes the greatest gift we can give isn’t more time; it’s making the time we have together count.
I recently had the chance to meet Promise at Virginia Beach Animal Services, and it’s impossible not to fall in love with her. She’s about 4 years old and immediately greeted me with tail wags, kisses, and snuggles, making it feel like we’ve been friends forever.
Promise has recently been diagnosed with cancer, and while we do not know how much time she has, we know this — she deserves to spend every single day of it feeling loved. Promise is feeling great right now. She still enjoys walks, playtime, treats, cuddles, and every opportunity to spend time with people. She isn’t defined by her diagnosis; she’s living each day to the fullest. When the time comes, her future family will need to provide palliative or hospice care, but today, Promise is simply looking for someone to love.
Dogs don’t measure life in years…they measure it in moments. Promise isn’t asking for forever. She’s asking for someone willing to make the time she has left the very best it can be.
She would do best as the only dog in her home so she can soak up all of your love and attention. If you open your heart to Promise, you’ll receive something truly special in return: unwavering loyalty, grateful kisses, and a companion whose love will stay with you long after she’s gone.
Go meet Promise at Virginia Beach Animal Services. I have a feeling you’ll understand exactly why everyone there has fallen in love with her.
