Shelter Pet Saturday is brought to you by Lucky One Lemonade
I met Valkyrie, an 8-year-old Coonhound/Retriever, Labrador mix at Chesapeake Animal Services this week.
She was surrendered to Chesapeake Animal Services when her devoted family was reassigned and their new base housing imposed breed restrictions. Her family was devastated and truly loved her.
They wanted everyone to know that she is an incredible dog. She is great with kids, gets along well with cats and small dogs, and is house- and crate-trained.
She’s had formal ESA (emotional support animal) training, and I can vouch that she gives GREAT hugs! She loves nothing more than being right by your side or in your lap, if you’ll let her.
