Oprah To Donate $10 Million COVID-19 Relief Organizations

Oprah is giving a big donation to help COVID-19 relief organizations. She’s giving a whopping $10 million dollars to aid various coronavirus charities.

The former talk show host revealed on Instagram that she’s going to give a million-dollar donation to the charity America’s Food Fund (AFF), and nine million dollars will be distributed to other various coronavirus relief funds.

AFF was founded by Leonardo DiCaprio, Apple and the Ford Foundation and others and is focused on food insecurity.

During her AppleTV+ series Oprah Talks COVID-19, she surprised Chef José Andrésand the CEO of Feeding America Claire Babineaux-Fontenot with her million-dollar donation to America’s Food Fund and told the two, “I know I can trust my money in your hands.”

She also revealed that the rest of her $10 million donation would be going “to help Americans during this pandemic in cities across the country and in areas where I grew up.” Winfrey grew up in Mississippi and Tennessee.

@chefjoseandres and Claire Babineaux-Fontenot have teamed up with @leonardodicaprio, Laurene Powell Jobs and @Apple to launch America’s Food Fund to help feed local communities. I was struck by the work these organizations are doing and while everyone’s priority right now is to stay safer at home, I know there are many of us looking for ways to help. I believe that America’s Food Fund will be a powerful way to make a difference for our neighbors in need and am committing $1 million to this fund to support those facing food insecurity. I am donating $10 million overall to help Americans during this pandemic in cities across the country and in areas where I grew up.
