What’s New in Theaters this Weekend!

New in Theaters: “Maleficent 2” and “Zombieland 2” 1. “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” (PG) This movie takes place a few years after the first one. Prince Phillip asks Aurora to marry him and she says yes . . . even though he failed to break the sleeping curse in the last movie and true love’s kiss had to come from Maleficent instead. Michelle Pfeiffer is the villain in this one. She’s Phillip’s mom. When they meet to plan the wedding, she keeps pushing Angelina Jolie until she loses her temper, then turns Aurora against her godmother and launches a war against all the faeries. Elle Fanning is back as Aurora, Sam Riley returns as Maleficent’s raven Diaval, and Chiwetel Ejiofor joins the cast as the leader of an army of dark fairies who rescue Maleficent after she’s ambushed by Michelle Pfeiffer’s treachery. 2. “Zombieland 2: Double Tap” (R) Our four heroes . . . Jesse Eisenberg (Columbus), Woody Harrelson (Tallahassee), Emma Stone (Wichita), and Abigail Breslin (Little Rock) . . . take over the White House and face some new types of zombies that have evolved since the outbreak. As for the new survivors, Zoey Deutch sparks some jealousy from Emma Stone, Rosario Dawson gives Woody Harrelson a run for his money, and Luke Wilson and Thomas Middleditch are two guys who act EXACTLY like Columbus and Tallahassee. Bill Murray is also back. He and Dan Aykroyd have cameos as themselves.
