Sarah Jessica Parker Sued for $150K Over an Instagram Post

Actress Sarah Jessica Parker is being accused of ripping off an artist’s work and now she’s being sued for $150,000. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, a photographer named Daniel Herrick is suing the “Sex and The City” actress and her business Very Fetching Company. The suit explains Herrick photographed Sarah Jessica Parker while walking the streets of New York. “Herrick is the author of the Photograph and has at all times been the sole owner of all right, title and interest in and to the Photograph, including the copyright thereto.” He accuses the actress of taking his photo and using it on her Instagram to promote her brand. “Defendants did not license the Photograph from Plaintiff for its Website, nor did Defendants have Plaintiff’s permission or consent to publish the Photograph on its Website,” the suit reads. He claims, “Defendants infringed Plaintiff’s copyright in the Photograph by reproducing and publicly displaying the Photograph on the Website. Defendants are not, and have never been, licensed or otherwise authorized to reproduce, publically display, distribute and/or use the Photograph.” Herrick is demanding $150,000 per infringement and his attorney fees paid. He is also seeking an injunction against Sarah Jessica Parker from using his work in the future.
