Tim Tebow and Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters are officially husband and wife.
The Mets prospect married Miss Universe 2017 in her native South Africa, People confirmed Monday, as the pair swapped personal vows during a half-hour ceremony in Cape Town.
“We’re both very traditional,” bride Nel-Peters told the outlet. “We wanted to look back at the wedding and see that it was intimate, elegant, and traditional. We definitely wanted it to be something that we could look back on and know that nothing was dated. We want to remember this day for the rest of our lives.”
Tebow, 32, opted for an Antar Levar tux for the big day while Nel-Peters, 24, selected a custom David’s Bridal design.
“I wanted to find something sleek and elegant and timeless,” she said.
Tebow and Nel-Peters announced their engagement last January after less than a year of dating. They later celebrated at Walt Disney World in Florida.
“I’ve been looking forward to three things,” the former NFL star said. “The first moment I see her in her wedding dress, the first kiss, and the first dance together as man and wife. It’s such a special night.”
