“Judge Judy” To End After 25 Years

Judge Judith Sheindlin, aka Judge Judy, announced that her courtroom-styled show is ending in 2021 after 25 years.

The Honorable judge made an appearance on Ellen on Monday to talk about the end of the show,

“CBS [which distributes the show] sort of felt, I think, they wanted to optimally utilize the repeats of my program. Now they have 25 years of my reruns. What they decided to do is sell a couple of years’ worth of reruns.”

But no need to fret, the 77-year-old also revealed that she has a new show in the works that is set to premiere in 2022.

“But I’m not tired, so Judy Justice will be coming out a year later.

Although she confirmed that she’ll be on TV for the next couple of years, when asked where she’ll be airing the new show she shyly said, ““I can’t tell you yet.”

The syndicated legend continued on to say:

“Judge Judy, you’ll be able to see next year — a full year, all new shows. The following couple of years, you should be able to get all the reruns that CBS has sold on the stations currently carrying Judge Judy, and Judy Justice will be going elsewhere. Isn’t that fun?”

Judge Judy first premiered in 1996 in syndication and has become one of the highest rated and most successful shows in syndication.
