The Billboard Music Awards Have Been Postponed

The Billboard Music Awards, originally set to air on April 29th, have been postponed due to COVID-19 concerns.

Produced by Dick Clark Productions and aired by NBC, the two released a statement that read, “In accordance with the current guidelines set forth by national and local health officials and in order to ensure the health and safety of our artists, fans, guests and staff, we are postponing the Billboard Music Awards.”

The statement continued, “For more than two decades, the Billboard Music Awards has honored the best in music based on the Billboard charts, and we look forward to celebrating the incredible artists who topped those charts over the last year.”

While nominations were not released yet, Kelly Clarkson was scheduled to host and Garth Brooks was to receive the the ICON award.

Another Dick Clark Production, the Academy of Country Music Awards, postponed their ceremony to September as of a few days ago.
