Thanks to coronavirus and the stay-at-home orders, many high school seniors won’t be able to walk in traditional graduation ceremonies. But Facebook is stepping in to help the class of 2020 graduate virtually.
On May 15th at 2pm, Facebook Watch will air #Graduation2020: Facebook and Instagram Celebrate the Class of 2020. It’ll be a ceremony that will acknowledge high schools and colleges around the country by name, state by state, showing videos, photos and messages from deans and principals.
The star power for this broadcast is huge too, with Oprah Winfrey delivering the commencement speech, along with special remarks and advice from Lil Nas X, Simone Biles, Jennifer Garner and Awkwafina.
Miley Cyrus will also be performing the graduation favorite, the 2008 song “The Climb”.
