Lionel Richie songs are going to be having you “Dancing On The Ceiling” at theaters soon. That’s because Richie’s songs are being made into a movie musical.
Variety is reporting that Walt Disney Studios is in development of an original movie based on Richie’s catalog of hits. Tentatively titled “All Night Long”, it’ll be live action rather than animated.
Richie and his manager will be co-producers on the project and will be written by Pete Chiarelli, who wrote the script for Crazy Rich Asians and The Proposal It’s said to be similar to the ABBA inspired film Mamma Mia.
Richie came up with the idea, according to Variety. He pitched that idea back in January to the company, as he’s already a part of the company as a judge on American Idol.
