Jimmy Kimmel To Take Summer Hiatus To Spend Time With Family

Jimmy Kimmel announced that he’ll be taking a break from hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live! for the summer to spend more time with his family.

The late night host announced the news in a clip, that hilariously features Matt Damon who jokes that he’s been living in the spare bedroom of Kimmel’s home.

Kimmel said, “Tonight is my last new show for the summer. I’m taking the summer off to spend even more time with my family.“

He continued, “ I’ve been doing this job for almost 18 years, I’ve done 3,130 shows. And there’s nothing wrong — my family is healthy, I’m healthy — I just need a couple of months off.“

He shared that while on vacation, “a cavalcade of very kind and capable people will be filling in” and that “ I think you’re gonna be very happy with them.”

The guest hosted shows will begin on July 6th after a two week hiatus.
