Beyoncé is set to receive a huge honor at the 2020 BET Awards. She will be the recipient of the Humanitarian Award.
The singer will be honored for her long standing philanthropic work that includes her COVID-19 testing efforts. She and her mother, Tina Knowles Lawson, launched the #IDIDMYPART mobile testing initiatives to encourage testing for coronavirus in her hometown of Houston and other black and brown neighborhoods, who are disproportionately affected by the virus. She’s also donated to various organizations providing basic and mental health resources to vulnerable communities.
The announcement comes after the socially conscious artist released her single, Black Parade, on Juneteenth. The BET Awards air on Sunday at 8pm of BET and CBS.
