The Virginia Aquarium welcomed a newborn spotted eagle ray Monday, July 28th.

This makes the Virginia Aquarium one of only 10 AZA-accredited facilities worldwide with successful spotted eagle ray births!

Aquarium officials say the mother’s name is Sadana and the sex of the pup and a naming contest will be announced in the coming weeks.
