Dancing with the Stars fans were shocked when long time hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews were let go ahead of the new season (and so were the hosts themselves).
Just informed @DancingABC will be continuing without me. It’s been an incredible 15 year run and the most unexpected gift of my career. I’m grateful for that and for the lifelong friendships made. That said, now what am I supposed to do with all of these glitter masks?

The show’s producer finally addressed the decision on Wednesday, September 30th during ABC’s VirtualFall panel saying, “I think it’s all about evolution. I think any show like this that has been on many, many seasons needs to continue to evolve. I think changing the host was all about evolution, it was about making the show feel fresh, making it feel new [and] kind of make it reach out — maybe to a new audience as well, as well as the audience that’s been there for years.”
The former hosts had some fun with this statement on Twitter:
