A mass vaccination site run with the help of FEMA will open up in Portsmouth next week, Gov. Northam announced during a briefing on Tuesday, March 9.
These events will select people via Virginia’s pre-registration system. People will not be able to just show up, they’ll need an appointment.
Officials said more vaccination sites will come in the next three weeks, with up to 13 events in the next three months.
Huge news for Portsmouth, on the heels of my report last week where the city’s health dept director said volunteer numbers were not sufficient to ramp up the pace of vaccinations as more supply comes in. @WAVY_News https://t.co/Ttkg4x3gCO
