Jeopardy! producer, Mike Richards, says a permanent host for the long-running game show will be announced this summer.

Following the passing of Alex Trebek, previous contestants and celebrities have filled in as guest hosts.

According to ETCanada, Richards revealed that Jeopardy! will name its permanent host sometime this summer. Explaining that it “will all come down to testing” with the top executives at Sony Entertainment, Richards reveals the process has been extensive and said, “It’s unlike anything I’ve ever been a part of, as far as testing in its size and scope”. Reportedly, Jeopardy! is expected to begin filming its new season in July or early August and will have its official host in place.
