Healthcare Organizations in Hampton Roads to Require COVID-19 Vaccines for All Employees
Healthcare organizations in Hampton Roads have expanded their vaccination policies and are now requiring all team members to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
In a joint statement from Chesapeake Regional Healthcare, Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters Health System, Riverside Health System and Sentara Healthcare Wednesday afternoon, all announced that team members are to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by October 18, 2021.
In the statement, healthcare officials say that as the community’s front-line defense against COVID-19, healthcare providers have “a moral and ethical responsibility” to protect the health of their team members, patients, residents, and communities.
Bon Secours said in a separate statement that it will also require employees to be vaccinated, but no deadline has been set.
