Before going out on her first date with Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello says that she calmed her nerves with 2 shots of tequila.
She told the hilarious story about how nervous she was on the latest episode of James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke.
“I swear to god, before Shawn and I’s first date, I was so nervous I took two tequila shots and sang ‘Defying Gravity,'” Cabello said.
“There’s just a lot of stakes before the first time. I’m like, ‘Oh my god, do I kiss him when I see him?’ I don’t know,” she recalled thinking. “He’s about to come over and I’m so nervous I just can’t take it. My dad is there and I’m like, ‘Pour me two tequila shots, just do it.’ And I just sang ‘Defying Gravity.'”
The couple’s first collaboration was in 2015 for her debut single, “I Know What You Did Last Summer” and then, released “Senorita” right before their first public appearance as a couple in the summer of 2019.
The new episode features her, along with Cinderella co-stars Billy Porter and Idina Menzel as they were on their way to the premier of movie. The concept of the film came from James Corden.
