‘America’s Got Talent’ Stuntman Speaks Out After Near Death

Stuntman Jonathan Goodwin is speaking out just a week after he nearly died while filming America’s Got Talent: Extreme.

Goodwin was attempting an elaborate stunt in which he was suspended 70 feet in the air upside down by his feet and in a straitjacket. The stunt was for him to escape from the straitjacket and fall between two swinging cars and onto an air mattress. His timing was clearly off as he ended up getting sandwiched between the exploding cars and then fell hard to the ground, landing on his head.

Speaking to TMZ from his hospital bed, bandaged and clearly burned and bruised, Goodwin said he’s thankful to be alive and added, “I have been to the very brink and dodged the worst that a human being can, without fear…because I was protected by love. Love is all you need, so make sure you get some, cos its good s***.” He didn’t go into detail about his injuries, but it appears he has a long road to recovery ahead.
