Here’s Everything You Need to Know About the 2021 AMAs

 

 


The 2021 American Music Awards took place Sunday, Nov. 21st and BTS took home three AMAs, including “Artist Of The Year,” along with the awards for “Favorite Pop Duo or Group” and “Favorite Pop Song” for their record-breaking hit, “Butter.” 

 

Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion also earned three awards each — Doja Cat won “Collaboration of the Year,” “Favorite Female R&B Artist” and “Favorite R&B Album,” while Megan Thee Stallion won for “Favorite Trending Song,” “Favorite Female Hip-Hop Artist” and “Favorite Hip-Hop Album.” 

AMAs host Cardi B was also an AMA winner for “Favorite Hip-Hop Song.”

Taylor Swift made some new AMA history when she broke her own existing AMA award count — now at 34 — as she won “Favorite Female Pop Artist” and “Favorite Pop Album” for Evermore.

 

Following her debut performance on the AMAs stage, Olivia Rodrigo won her first ever AMA for “New Artist of the Year.”

 

Other multiple winners were Carrie Underwood: Favorite Female Country Artist and Favorite Inspirational Artist; Bad Bunny, winning “Favorite Male Latin Artist” and “Favorite Latin Album;” and Gabby Barrett, who earned awards for “Favorite Country Album” and “Favorite Country Song.” 

Winners on the red carpet included Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Porter, Cardi B and Chloe Bailey.
