A video of Elmo from Sesame Street has gone viral 18 years after it first aired.
In the 2004 episode, Elmo is at a table with Zoe and human character Gabi, who’s baked some cookies. Elmo asks for one, but Gabi says she’s all out.
No problem — Elmo can just eat the one sitting next to Zoe’s pet rock, right? Not if Zoe has anything to say about it — that cookie belongs to Rocco.
That’s where Elmo goes nuts, exclaiming, “Rocco’s a rock, Zoe! He won’t know the difference! How is Rocco gonna eat that cookie, Zoe? Tell Elmo! Rocco doesn’t have a mouth. Rocco’s just a rock! Rocco’s not alive!”
We’re not sure why this video has become such a phenomenon almost two decades later, but we can’t stop watching it.
Following the video’s resurfacing, Elmo himself responded to the clip, saying, quote, “Has anybody ever seen a rock eat a cookie? Elmo is just curious.”
That’s when The Rock…as in Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, got involved. He said, “Yes, my friend. This Rock devours cookies. All kinds of cookies. I’ll introduce you to #CheatMeals and it’ll change your life.”
“Tell Cookie Monster to move it over, cuz I’m coming to Sesame Street to kick ass and eat cookies. And I’m almost all outta cookies.”
Folks, we did not have The Rock feuding with Cookie Monster on 2022 Bingo but hey we’ll take something silly and wholesome right about now.
