Lady Gaga and Liza Minelli Touch Oscar Viewers’ Hearts in Tender Moment: “I Got You”

Lady Gaga earned praise for her respectful interaction with Liza Minnelli at the 2022 Oscars.

Gaga and the Hollywood icon took the stage together to announce the night’s Best Picture winner. At age 76,  Minelli rarely makes public appearances but according to Minnelll’s former publicist, Scott Gorenstein, “Lady Gaga requested that Liza present the award with her,” per PEOPLE.

“Do you see that? The public, they love you!” Gaga told Minnelli before helping her sort through her cue cards.

When Minnelli appeared to struggle with the sheets of paper and muttered “I don’t understand,” Gaga gracefully assisted her, saying “I got it” and took the musical theater icon by the hand.

“Good evening. You know how I love working with legends,” Gaga told the audience. “And I’m honored to present the final award of the evening with a true, show business legend.”

Then, before the clip package aired, Gaga was heard whispering “I got you” to which Liza replied: “I know, thank you.”
