Charlie Puth Opens Up in Emotional Video for ‘That’s Hilarious’

Charlie Puth is opening up like never before.

The singer-songwriter released the music video for “That’s Hilarious” on Wednesday (May 4), which was directed by Matthew Daniel Siskin.

The song was co-written with longtime collaborator JKash, and explores “the pain of feeling betrayed by a breakup.”

Charlie shared on TikTok, “I never told people what happened to me and the pain that I went through going through the worst breakup of my life in 2019. I just wanted to throw it under the carpet and just start over and surround myself with better people.”

“This is the hardest song that I ever had to put together, and I’m so excited for you to hear it, OK? So, thank you,” he added.

“That’s Hilarious” is from his album, Charlie, due out later this year.
