The Wanted’s Tom Parker Reveals Ed Sheeran Paid For Medical Bills in Posthumus Memoir

The Wanted’s Tom Parker lost his battle with glioblastoma, an inoperable brain tumor, in March at the age of 33.

Prior to his death, the singer wrote a memoir and in it, he reveals that Ed Sheeran helped pay for some of his medical expenses during cancer treatment.

On Saturday, (May 14th), The Sun published an excerpt from Hope: My Inspirational Life by Tom Parker, that read, “I’ve never publicly said this before (and he’ll probably be mad that I’m doing it now) but Ed is a very special man. He even helped out with my medical bills when I was seeking other treatment options and having private immunotherapy.”

Parker shares that the pair met when Sheeran joined The Wanted on their tour bus during a promotion trip in America more than ten years ago.  “We’ve always run into each other over the years and had a great relationship,” he added.

The “Glad You Came” singer added that Sheeran’s actions “meant the world” to him and his wife. “He didn’t need to do any of that, but my wife Kelsey and I are so grateful to him for his support,” Parker wrote.

Hope: My Inspirational Life by Tom Parker, will be released on May 26.
