Taylor Swift Makes History at 2022 MTV Video Music Awards


The 2022 MTV Video Music Awards took place on Sunday (Aug. 28).

Taylor Swift made history by becoming the first artist ever to win Video of the Year three times. As she accepted the Video of the Year award for her “All Too Well” short film, she announced a new album would be dropping on October 21st — with details to follow just after midnight tonight.

Other big winners for the night included the Red Hot Chili Peppers who were honored with both the Global Icon Award and Best Rock and Nicki Minaj who performed, co-hosted and won both Best Hip Hop and the Video Vanguard Award.

Minaj received a standing ovation for her career-spanning medley including “Roman’s Revenge,” “Monster,” “Beez in the Trap,” “Chun-Li,” “Moment 4 Life,” “Super Bass,” “Anaconda,” and “Super Freaky Girl.”
