The directors and songwriters behind the new movie, “Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile,” came up with the idea while they were working on that one.
In an interview with Collider, they shared, “We were talking about what we could cook up next, because we really want to do another musical.”
Director Will Speck shared that songwriters Pasek and Paul had “both been very obsessed with Oregon Trail. … They mentioned that, and we now have the rights to it, and we’re putting it together alongside them and some other exciting people.”
If you’ve somehow never played the classic game, The Oregon Trail is an old-school simulation about the experiences of 19th-century pioneer life. It was created in 1971 and played in schools in the 80s.
