The Weeknd is recognized by Guinness World Records as the most popular artist in the world. The accolade comes after the sinter set two new records with Spotify, including the most monthly listeners with 111.4 million.
The Weeknd was also the first artist to reach 100 million monthly listeners.
His 2020 song “Blinding Lights” also has the most Spotify streams, and it’s the longest-charting song on the Billboard Hot 100 of all time with a total of 90 weeks.
