LISTEN: Kelly Clarkson Releases Two New Songs, “Me” and “Mine”

Kelly Clarkson unveiled new music on Friday (April 14th).

The singer and talk show host dropped two singles, “Me” and “Mine,” off her upcoming 10th album, “Chemistry.”

Clarkson explained that she “didn’t want to release just one song to represent an entire album or relationship.”

“There are many stages of grief and loss on this album,” she shared in an email statement. “Each song is a different stage and emotional state.”

The new music hints at her messy divorce from Brandon Blackstock. Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock in June 2020 following seven years of marriage.

“Can’t believe I let you in, I can’t believe I stayed as long as I stayed,” she sings on “Mine.” “Someone’s gonna show you how a heart can be used, like you did mine.”

And lyrics in “Me” include “your insecurity was the death of you and me. Too many times you questioned, what were my intentions? I never gave you reasons, you’re the one with secrets.”
