Ed Sheeran Says He Will Quit Music if He Loses ‘Let’s Get It On’ Copyright Lawsuit

Ed Sheeran is facing a legal battle over his hit song “Thinking Out Loud,” which is accused of plagiarizing Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On.”

According to People, when Sheeran’s lawyer asked what he would do if the court ruled against him he responded, “If that happens, I’m done, I’m stopping. I find it to be really insulting. I work really hard to be where I’m at.”

The lawsuit was filed by a company called Structured Asset Sales, which bought one-third of the shares of the song from the family of Ed Townsend, a co-writer of “Let’s Get It On.”

The case is ongoing.
