The Virginia Peninsula Foodbank is in critical need of donations.
The foodbank shared in a post on social media that the need for food assistance in our community has risen by 30% compared to last year, but donations have dipped by 50%.
They asked for the community’s assistance saying that “money donations are super valuable as they allow us to buy truckloads of food at discounted prices, making every penny count!”
Community members can also donate fresh produce from home gardens or collaborate to host a food or fund drive.
You can donate to the food bank here.
