Meet Dwayne, a gentle 11-year-old senior pup looking for a loving home at Chesapeake Animal Services. This adorable pup’s journey brought him to the shelter when his owners had to move and, unfortunately, couldn’t take him along. Alongside another dog, Dwayne was surrendered to the shelter, where he now patiently waits for a second chance at love.

He has lived with kids and other animals and his previous owners describe him as a sweet and affectionate pup that is very gentle and would make a great family dog. Dwayne is easy to walk and follows all instructions. He loves treats and takes them gently, he will also ‘sit’ for them.
Dwayne is a proud Snout and About alum, a program where volunteers take shelter dogs out on field trips to experience the world beyond the shelter walls. Those who have had the pleasure of spending time with Dwayne report his exceptional behavior and how well-mannered he is, making him an absolute joy to be around.
