Taylor Swift Announces New Album; Makes Grammys History

Taylor Swift clinched her fortunate 13th GRAMMY Award for Best Pop Vocal Album with ‘Midnights’ and revealed her 11th studio LP, ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ set to release on April 19.

“This is my 13th grammy,” Swift said. “I want to say ‘thank you’ to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years — which is that my brand new album comes out April 19.” It’s called The Tortured Poet’s Department and she also released the cover art, showing her laying on a bed, on Instagram. “All’s fair in love and poetry… New album THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT. Out April 19,” Swift captioned the photo.

Swift also set a Grammy record by taking home her fourth Album of the Year award on Sunday (February 3rd) night for Midnights.

“I would love to tell you that this is the best moment of my life, but I feel this happy when I finish a song, or when I crack the code to a bridge that I love, or when I’m shot listing a music video, or when I’m rehearsing with my dancers, or my band or getting ready to go to Tokyo to play a show,” Swift said on stage.

With this record-breaking win, Swift has now surpassed Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, and Paul Simon, becoming the only artist to have won the award three times.
