Norfolk Animal Care Center’s Mobile Pet Pantry Delivers Support to Local Residents

Norfolk Animal Care Center’s (NACC) Waggin’ Wheels Mobile Pet Pantry program brings pet food and supplies to families in need. The Friends of the Norfolk Animal Care Center (aka ‘FNACC’) initiated the Pet Pantry in July 2011, which is physically located at the Norfolk Animal Care Center shelter and available to community members seven days a week, with no appointment or verification needed.

Pet owners facing hardship and financial challenges may be forced to make a difficult choice between feeding their families or feeding their pets. Some owners, confronted with this challenging decision, are compelled to give up their animal companions. The goal of the pet pantry is to enable pets to stay in loving homes by providing the basic nutrition every pet needs.

Now, with assistance from Norfolk Animal Care Center’s Waggin’ Wheels mobile unit and the Norfolk Public Library, the Pet Pantry has gone mobile! On the second Saturday of each month, NACC’s Waggin’ Wheels will bring the mobile pet pantry into our Norfolk communities, visiting a different Norfolk Public Library anchor branch to provide free dog and cat food

The Waggin’ Wheels Mobile Pet Pantry is scheduled to stop from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the following dates and locations:

February 10, May 11, August 10, November 9

Richard A. Tucker Memorial Library 2350 Berkley Ave. Ext.
