Miley Cyrus Says No to Touring to Protect Her Sobriety and Mental Health

Miley Cyrus fans may be eager to see her hit the road after the release of her latest album, Something Beautiful, but the singer says a tour just isn’t in the cards.

In a recent interview, Miley got candid about her decision to step away from the touring life, sharing that it’s less about physical ability or opportunity and more about protecting her sobriety and mental wellness.

“It’s really hard to maintain sobriety when you’re on the road, which is a really important pillar of stability in my life,” Miley explained. “It’s really hard to keep mental wellness. You have so many thousands of people screaming at you… so dopamine, you’re feeling a lot of love, and then you totally crash at the end of the show. You start thinking that one person loving you’s not enough — it needs to be 10,000, it needs to be 80,000.”

Miley made it clear that her choice not to tour isn’t about fear. In fact, she thrives on challenges. “I like to do things I’m afraid of. I’ve jumped out of airplanes. I’ve performed for 150,000 people. I stood toe-to-toe with Beyoncé.”

For Miley, it’s all about finding balance and staying true to herself — even if that means stepping away from the spotlight for a while.
